This class is for learners who have the beginning reading skills down but who need practice with vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. Foundational skills are taught in K-3rd but often students miss the instruction and practice they need in the next steps. Fluency is the ability to read words correctly and automatically while using the appropriate expression. Comprehension is an understanding of the text and subtext. I hold a BA in Administration as well as an ESL certification. I have also completed more than 120 hours of professional development in the Science of Reading. I have been teaching young learners to read for more than 18 years.
