Students will develop their French language skills through reading and writing. 
Students will review key vocabulary.
Students will learn to work with different tenses of verbs. 
Students will be introduced to and learn the top 100 words in French. 

I grew up in New Brunswick, the only Billingual province in Canada. I also studied French for several years, and continue to study and improve. I also have taught French both online and in the classroom. The course I have developed has been highly successful in helping students develop the ability to have a conversation in French!

Each week, students will be assigned homework. They will ask to read and record the passage we worked on in class and finish the writing assignment we started in class. Students will be asked to keep a journal/diary 5 days a week as well. The journal will not be read/graded on content, but simply be a completion grade.

Students will be graded on all homework. (Grades below are per week. Optional assignments may be assigned). 
Recording: 10 points (Completion grade) (20%)
Writing: 25 points (50%)
Journal: 10 points (Completion grade) (20%)
Participation: 5 points (10%)

Journal entries are a completion grade. The recording is about 90% completion grade. If there are serious pronunciation issues, I will address them with students. Writing is sometimes a completion grade. Other times, students will be given a rubric for how their work will be assessed. Participation includes attendance and participating in class.
