Welcome to Unicorns & Rainbows Reading Beginners: Intro to Phonics! Come join me and my friend, Princess Rainbow the Unicorn, as we learn early reading skills together. In this class, we will introduce consonant and vowel sounds in various single-syllable words, practice saying and blending the sounds, and connect those sounds to their corresponding letters. Students will learn: -phonemic awareness -blending single syllable words -decoding and finding the words in a text

Learners will also need to bring a white board and dry erase markers, blank paper, crayons and markers, and some sensory materials, such as playdough, bear or cube counters, or pom poms for practicing phonics concepts. Magnetic letters are also helpful to have in class!
I will provide my own materials for this class, including slides and a PDF file that I have created.
