With the Jan Brett book The Three Little Dassies, students will listen, choral read, and take turns reading character parts. Throughout the book we will explore vocabulary, making predictions, connecting the text to other texts and connecting the story to the world. I try to keep learning environments fun and engaging, so I create slide presentations with plenty of visuals when teaching online. - Students will identify the country of Namibia in Africa and be able to tell about some animals and the landscape.
- Students will retell the five major components of the story The Three Little Dassies by Jan Brett.
- Students will read fluently and connect the story with the common fairy tale The Three Little Pigs.
I have a Masters in Reading, with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I have been teaching emerging readers for 15 years.
We will look at pictures, read typed portions, and listen to the story The Three Little Dassies by Jan Brett.
