課堂經歷

Through theatrical reenactment of stories and improvised potential endings, we will use scripts and improvisation to practice solving problems in real time. After reading the script of the day, up to the point where the protagonist runs into their conflict, students are cast to play the many characters in a reenactment. Students take turns offering solutions that the protagonist could try and embodying their ideas of how the other characters might react. Students receive support and encouragement to think out of the box and explore all of the possible solutions, there is never just one. This class is suitable for all levels of actors and problem solvers.

I teach theatre and art classes that invite students to imagine, invent and interact with the world around them. To use their time on stage and while creating visual art; to learn, practice and discover new options for learning school and life lessons creatively.

Many of my classes have a focus on nature and protecting the environment. I am a Climate Reality Leader trained by Vice President Al Gore, to teach others about the Truths of Climate Change. I serve as the Arts & Action lead and a Steering Committee member for SoCal 350 Climate Action, an affiliate of the international group 350.org, that energizes and empowers communities to seek solutions with a local, regional, and global reach to confront the dawning climate emergency happening everywhere. I have worked as an Environmental Arts educator and artist for over 15 years; working in schools, community centers and local Los Angeles orgs. with children, youth and adults.

I was formerly a certified classroom teacher grades N-12, in Communications and Performing Arts in Massachusetts. Teaching high school and elementary school courses in schools throughout the Boston Area. I currently work in Los Angeles, CA, as a Theatre Coach for educators and a Theatre Teaching Artist with elementary, middle and high schools. I hold a Master's in Theatre Education from Emerson College.

I believe that learning is all about discovery. In my courses students are invited to question, to fail, to get back up and try again. Resilience is key and the moment when we realize that there are many ways to solve a problem, invent a solution, create art and work together is pure magic.

I love hugging trees, taking hikes and making up wacky stories. I'm happiest when I am planting seeds and watching them grow in my garden and in my imagination.
