During this 55 minute course, we will review the RACE strategy for writing. The RACE strategy includes restating the question, answering the question, citing a source, and extending your answer. This is best used for answering questions from short passages. This course is geared toward third, fourth, and fifth graders who may need a review of this strategy, or even an introduction! We will begin by reading a passage, and working through the RACE strategy together in order to nail it down....
Our learning goal will be that the student can effectively answer short passages using the RACE strategy.
Students will need writing materials, preferably a pencil and a notepad.
