Public speaking is an important skill in all areas of life. Practicing this skill at an early age, will allow students to feel comfortable speaking in front of a group. In this one-time class, students will collect 5-6 personal objects, before class, that describe who they are and what they like (example: ballet slipper, soccer trophy, vacation photo, book, pet toy, food, game controller, etc.) The learners will use these various objects to share information about themselves with others. Public speaking skills such as eye contact, speed and volume will be discussed. Time at the end of class will be used to allow the learners to have the opportunity to interact with each other and make connections based on their shared interests. This class is meant to be educational, social and fun!

Hello! I'm Teacher Candi and I have a passion for teaching! Thank you so much for visiting my profile page.
I have over 15 years of teaching experience. I have taught English grades 7,8 and Elementary grades K-5 in public schools. I hold degrees and teaching certifications in English / Secondary Education and Elementary Education. I also have a Post Graduate Certificate in School District Administration. In addition, for the past three years, I have taught ESL students through an online learning platform. Teaching is my joy, and my goal is to make children love to learn. I strive to make learning fun for children of all ages. Songs, chants and games are just some of the techniques that I use in the classroom to make learning enjoyable. I encourage all learners to participate through positive reinforcement and confidence-boosting praise.
Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children, and our very energetic dog. We currently live in New York, near the water. The five of us enjoy spending time at the beach, fishing, kayaking and making memories.
