Is your student familiar with Procreate and ready to try something new? Join me in this class where we will explore the wonders of watercolor- digitally! Your student will be given a textured paper, to mimic traditional watercolor paper --and learn how to tweak it so that it looks most life-like. In addition, brushes and stamps are provided (upon enrollment) so that your experienced student can be met with success as we embrace the digital form of watercolor painting. We will look at: -Traditional glazing as compared to digital glazing and how to make it work for us. -Watercolor layering and working tightly for maximum shading and highlighting. -Painting in such a way to capture the transparency of the medium we are studying. All materials are supplied for your student for maximum results. Before class, brushes and stamps will need to be uploaded into the brush library, as well as textured paper! Please upload ALL materials before class so that we can begin class on time!! **This class assumes a complete understanding of Procreate! I will not be teaching the app in this class, rather USING Procreate to explore digital watercolor techniques through the various mediums and methods Procreate provides** if your student needs to learn how to use Procreate, please see my Intro series (the donut) before enrolling in the "Watercolor 1010"! Digital painting is so much fun and offers such great results- I can't wait to show you how!

Please make sure that all brushes, reference photo and paper image are uploaded PRIOR to the beginning of class!
If anyone is having troubles uploading the materials ----
1- They must be downloaded from the classroom- not an email.
2-Download the two photos - they are the reference photo of the hot chocolate and the paper. (Click on the photos and choose Download. They will go to your chosen location of choice on your computer or iPad---I use Dropbox)
3-Dowlnoad the brushes, again, to your chosen location.
4- Go to the Procreate App.
5- Open a canvas 2400 x 3300 with a 300 dpi
6- Go to the Brush Library- Find the + on the right side in the gray header - across from BRUSH LIBRARY header.
7- You will see a yellow button DONE on the upper right. Look over two words and you will see the word IMPORT. Choose that
8- Find the brushes in your chosen location and import one at a time. Import all brushes!
9-Go to the last category of the brush library "Imported" You should find them all there.
10- Let's get your photos in- Go back to your canvas. Press the wrench
11-Press ADD
12- Insert PHOTO
13- Repeat for the other photo.
This should get you ready for the class! I look forward to our time together~!!

This has given me to chance to teach from ages 2-92! I love exploring creativity through the lens of "You can do it - and I can teach you how!" No matter a student's current ability, with proven visual aids and assistance, I can help my students reach their personal goals. If they have the passion to learn, they WILL improve their skills!
As a means to help my students, I am continually improving my own skills, I stay current by continually practicing my own art and learning new techniques, while working with my agent in licensing my artwork. I stay current in my field so that I can keep my students current on trends and methodology.
It is my joy to learn and to teach!
Please note:
*My classes cover a lot of material and are jam-packed full of information that deal with the nuts and bolts of the apps that I teach.
*My classes are fast-paced and full of information and practical applications.
*For most classes, uploads are required before class begins. Please check the classroom beforehand to ensure that all the files are loaded and ready to go in the Procreate gallery. We need every second of class time for instruction.
*I strongly encourage students to take my classes in order. There are many things to be learned in each class and each lesson builds on material presented in the previous classes.
*While I am teaching, I can not answer emails and try to honor my families time by keeping office hours of M-Fr 9-5 for communications.
One last note: It is better for your student to take my classes on two devices ---one to draw on and one to watch the Zoom class! If this is not an option, remember that the recordings will be available after class!! My classes are jam packed with information and tend to move quickly!
Your student CAN do this - I CAN teach them how!
