Students will learn basic literacy skills based on Common Core Standards. 
Students will be taught decoding and use of context clues.  Students will also be provided with opportunities to make inferences and answer higher level thinking questions.  The teacher will also teach some writing techniques to enhance the student's learning.  Lessons will be tailored to individual student needs and parent requests.

Hello! My name is Teacher Catherine. I have over 25 years of teaching experience in public and private schools.  I have taught third grade, Title One Preschool, and Kindergarten.  I really enjoy helping young learners find a love for learning and become life long learners. I enjoy creating lessons that are fun and engaging.  I have done lots of one on one tutoring and it is so fun to see the "lightbulbs" turn on as students make connections between letters and sounds and then putting those sounds together to make words.  I also love seeing students developing higher level thinking skills. My classes on Outschool will help scaffold students learning as they navigate school.  I enjoy teaching children in early elementary levels.
