Why take on the challenge of sentence diagramming? It allows students to clarify their thinking, fix their sentences, and put grammar to use differently. Putting all of the words of a sentence on a diagram enables learners to identify the logical connections between different parts of the sentence.  From my personal teaching experience, learning to diagram sentences allows an average grammar student to become a strong grammar student.
