We will cover all concepts that will help the student become a proficient pianist. I welcome beginners to early advanced levels to my courses. I will accept students and what content they bring with them. For the first lesson I will assess their skills and get a plan ready! I typically teach out of Piano Adventures, but I have taught out of multiple! I focus on teaching students to be good at note reading, rather than rote or playing by ear. As new concepts arise, there may in interactive games to help understand the concept. Beginners may come with zero knowledge of the subject! 24-Hour Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or reschedules (if available) must be made with 24 hours advanced notice. Refunds will not be granted with less than 24-hours advanced notice. Regarding rescheduling lessons with advanced notice: You may not need to withdraw from the subscription if you will be missing a lesson here or there. With enough advanced notice, I am able to delete the date in the schedule and possibly reschedule it. I really appreciate advanced notice for any appointments or vacations that conflict with our on-going schedule and will always try and accommodate when I am able.

Books to purchase will be based off background and age. I mainly teach the Piano Adventures method.

Hi! I teach on-going, one-time, and group lessons to ages 3.5 - 18! Message me if you need help scheduling! I also play flute, guitar, violin, and organ.
I have been an educator for 12 years and have a K-6 teaching license. My degrees include a bachelor and masters degree in education. My endorsements include ESL and Educational Technology help me to better meet individual needs. I have taught 5th grade, elementary technology education, and piano.
I focus my teaching on training to read music. I want students to be able to look at music that they've never heard before, and be able to start playing without ever hearing it. If they haven't played the piece for months or a year, I want them to be able to pull it out and play it like they learned it yesterday.
Playing the piano brings me joy, and I love passing that on to others! I am extremely grateful that my mom pushed me to practice, and that I have this talent!
If I'm not teaching, I'm chasing around 2 kids (another baby coming soon!). Other favorite things to do are playing volleyball, road biking and hanging out with my husband and friends (pre-covid).評論
