課堂經歷
Through weekly music instruction and practice, the youngest learners can gradually build knowledge and skills in piano playing. Each lesson will include demonstration, practice and individualized instruction. Learners may use downloadable music or a music curriculum (Faber Piano Adventures) as determined by the parent and teacher. Learners should practice between lessons to facilitate progress. Videos of songs and other resources may be posted to the Outschool classroom as needed to assist with practice between lessons. Positioning the camera so that the teacher can see your hands and ensuring that original sound is on will help the lessons run smoothly.

The learner will identify and demonstrate melodic contour and rhythms by playing simple songs on the piano.

Hello! My name is Mrs. McArthur and I teach MUSIC! I am a Texas certified all-level music teacher with 29 years of teaching experience, 26 years in public schools and 3 years online and homeschool experience. I have taught preschool through eighth grade General Music and Choir classes. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in vocal music from Oklahoma Baptist University.
I believe that every learner can make music! Learners need a variety of experiences to learn music skills, including visual, aural and kinesthetic. Given sequential steps, students can achieve well beyond the expectations. When creativity is modeled, learners discover that making mistakes improves music. Learners need opportunities to be creative with choices so they can create on their own terms and interests. By making connections to science, social studies, math and beyond, students learn that subjects don’t exist in isolation. Music is the universal language and learners deserve a chance to explore the world through a musical lens!
