In this multi-week class. The student will learn from math topics to meet the individual student's needs. This can be from math levels from preschool through middle school. The class will be taught lecture style on the whiteboard. The student is free to speak, ask questions, and will practice solving problems out loud and/or on paper. The goal is to help your student master the math topics requested. Send messages before with the grade level, so we can create a plan to help your student find a love for and master math skills. See you in the classroom soon! The class will be a 1 on 1 private lesson, so your student will be the only student in class unless you make the request to add additional students to the class. If you request that multiple students are in the class, I will schedule a class with the number of students per your request. Please note that students should be comfortable learning the same material as the other student. If set up for one student, students will receive the help that is student-centered and planned to meet their specific needs. My teaching style is very calm and laidback, as well as encouraging and optimistic. I guide students and show them that they can achieve all of their goals and I try to teach math in a fun way. The class will be interactive in the sense that students can interact and ask students questions, along with playing games of choice. The class will last for 11 weeks, but be sure to reach out to start a new section if you need more classes. Topics can include numbers and counting, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, division, percentages, shapes, conversions, pre-algebra and more.

I have been teaching and tutoring for over 13 years, in the school setting and online. I have worked as a pre-school teacher in a private learning center, an elementary/middle school math/reading tutor online, and in the school. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Master's of Social Work. I also have TESOL and TEFL: TEYL certifications. I am currently working towards my teaching license/ certification too. I am very patient and can guide students in their educational journey, every step of the way. I love to teach because I love to empower students and encourage them to take control of their futures. Beyond math and reading, I also enjoy teaching story improv, show and tell, how to start an online reselling business, personalized homework help, storytime, ESL, full curriculum, homeschool, private tutoring and more. I love learning new things about different cultures and hope to teach students from all over the world.

Regarding refunds, please follow Outschool’s policy. Try to pause class before Sunday evening or cancel more than 24 hours before. I will be limiting refunds for missed classes with no notification and very short notice cancellations. I will refund only in some situations.
