WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT? -Position of the harp -Reading notes -Understanding rhythms -Fingering -Basic harp songs WHAT DO I NEED FOR CLASS? 1. Small Harp: (students may choose to either rent or buy a small harp). A beginner harp has 22 strings or less. *If you do not already own a harp, this is what we recommend: Roosebeck Heather Harp w/Full Chelby Levers - Vine Engraved https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V9YF3J4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_PF4KKTSXZPCD01FCXTZM 2. Books: Purchase one or two beginner harp books for Celtic harp; otherwise known as lever harp. (teacher will recommend one after meeting the student) CLASS STRUCTURE Students will learn at a pace appropriate to their learning style. TEACHING STYLE A warm and welcoming environment ensures that students are able to progress at their own pace (with plenty of encouragement!) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED No experience is required. Classically trained since the age of 5, Christina has had a wide range of experiences both teaching and performing as a professional musician in professional orchestras, bands, choirs and as a solo musician. Christina has been teaching private music lessons since 2008. Her main instruments are harp and piano. She also plays Organ, Hand Bells and sings.
Christina enjoys teaching budding musicians and helping them explore their potential as a musician. She is especially talented providing a warm and encouraging environment during her one on one lessons.
