每週 1-2 小時. There is no required or graded homework. However, extra practice is optional and recommended. The more practice that a child gets the better. If you would like additional practice for your child, depending on your child's level, there will be: letter, phoneme, grapheme, or morpheme tiles to print and laminate for practice. At the end of each session, I will also share the session’s reading passage using google slides or pdfs. As needed, I will give additional tips and ideas for how you can help your child improve his or her reading at home.評估
Assessments aren't required but are recommended in order to keep your child moving forward in her/his reading journey. Assessments help me see a child's strengths and areas for growth. If needed, I will give a short reading assessment during the first session to get baseline information. This helps us work together to form individualized goals for your child. As needed, I will give quick informal assessments to make sure your child is progressing towards his or her goals.進度報告
After every session, I will give a short summary of what skills your child worked on and how to help with those skills at home. Upon request, for students that meet with me twice or more a week, I will give a monthly progress report.等級

This one-on-one class is for those that want their Kindergartener, 1st Grader, or 2nd Grader to begin reading or continue and get ahead in their reading journey. Older students that are in 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, or 6th grade that need intensive intervention and are reading at or below a 2nd grade level, will also find this class beneficial. The lessons are geared to your child’s learning needs and use Orton Gillingham methods. Your child’s outline of the class will vary depending on your child’s needs. Here is a sample outline of a lesson: Sounds visual Sounds auditory Blending Phonemic awareness Sight/Red words New or review skill New words to read Reading Spelling and/or writing dictation These are a sampling of topics I teach for this class: Letters: names, sounds and handwriting Syllables Alliteration Rhyming Blending Segmenting Phonics Reading Sight Words Fluency Sentence Writing Basic Comprehension My teaching style is explicit and direct instruction. This means I will introduce the activity and model it before having the learner perform the activity and all throughout the activity as needed. The class is structured for active participation through games, slides, pictures and short decodable phrases, sentences, and passages.

I have worked with students with: ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD, DLD, 504's, & IEPS. I support these learners by having a variety of short interactive multi-sensory activities, 30-minute sessions, and breaking concepts into smaller chunks.

For students that are Preschool to 1st grade: 9x12 Dry Erase White Board Black Dry Erase Marker Eraser, Sock or Felt to use as Eraser Older students may use the above or Zoom's whiteboard and google slides if they know how to use it or have an adult to help them learn how the first few times. Optional: Depending on your child's level, there will also be templates to print out on cardstock and laminate or put into sheet protectors.

As well as beginning math skills such as: number recognition, counting, colors, shapes, patterns, and adding and subtracting. I have over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. I have a B.A.E in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Reading and an M.A.E. in Early Childhood Education with a focus in Special Education.
