Does your learner need a little help with their reading and writing? In this interactive one-on-one weekly class, students will develop new writing skills each week. The following topics will be practiced: - Reading Fluency and Accuracy - Vocabulary - Reading Comprehension - Writing READING strategies that we will be discussing include: - Identifying the Main Idea and Supporting Details - Predicting - Comparing and Contrasting - Determining Plot - Analyzing Characters - Discussing Theme - Summarizing WRITING strategies that we will be discussing include: - Writing Opinions - Writing Informative Texts - Writing Narratives - Focusing Writing - Publishing Writing - Writing Projects - Gathering Information - English Grammar - Capitalization, Punctuation, and Spelling - Word Meanings - Word Relationships - Using Words and Phrases Learners will develop their daily writing skills and learn different writing strategies to generate ideas for writing a specific writing task.

Hello Outschool families! My name is Mrs. Christine and I want to welcome you to my classroom! I am so excited to be a part of your learner's experiences on Outschool and look forward to meeting them.
Here is a little about me:
I live in Florida (EST) and have a degree from the University of North Florida, a TESOL Certification, and I homeschooled our daughter for over 14 years!
I have taught many homeschool classes in subjects like reading, writing, science, history, math, and art. I’ve also led story times, hosted tea parties, and coordinated field trips. I’ve taught children from elementary through high school.
I have also taught over 6,000 online ESL (English as a Second Language) courses over the last 7 years to students all over the world and I absolutely love it! I have taught students in 27 countries spread over 5 continents. My favorite thing about teaching online are the relationships that I have been able to make with my students and their families.
I have been married for over 24 years and we have one daughter in college and two cute miniature schnauzers. I spend a lot of my free time playing and snuggling with them. When we aren't playing with the puppies, my family and I enjoy traveling.
