Do you love Dinosaurs? Have you ever wondered what life was like in the Time of the Dinosaur? This class will answer your Dinosaur questions, plus you can do fun Dinosaur projects. In this class, you will learn about Dinosaurs and the Earth that they dominated. We will study the Mesozoic Era and the earth before, during, and after this Era. We will explore everything Dinosaur - their lives, their environment, and their anatomy. We will study the many species of Dinosaurs and learn how they came to dominate the Earth. Finally we will explore the decline and extinction of Dinosaurs. Primus Science Self-Paced classes have two learning paths - the Core Course and the Alternate Path. All students must complete the Core Course within the time frame of the class to get an assessment or grade. The Alternate Course has additional optional activities. In this class, the Alternate Course features additional projects that will result in a Dinosaur Diorama that can be used as a Science Fair Project or a Science project for a homeschool portfolio. The Alternate Course path is completely optional and will not count toward the final assessment or grade unless requested. Primus Science Self-Paced classes present a variety of teaching tools. Classes are taught via recorded videos that feature models, pictures, and demonstrations. Animated explainer videos enhance the learning experience. Reading materials, activities, worksheets, and quizzes created specifically for Primus Science Self-Paced classes are included in the Core Course. The Core Course also has fun or scientific projects. All Projects have a Materials List which will be posted on the class page. Projects will be demonstrated during class videos. Projects will not be part of the assessment or grade, unless requested. Materials are posted on the class page every week on Saturdays or Sundays. Teacher feedback and assessments and grading are only available during the posted class time frame. For this class, that timeframe is six weeks. Per Outschool policies, this class is available to the student for twelve months. However teacher feedback, assessments, and grading are only available during the listed class timeframe. Assessments and grading may be available at the Teacher's discretion with prior approval from the teacher after the six week course. Contact the Teacher for a special request.

Annette the Teacher has been teaching for a long time. She has over three decades of experience teaching children of all ages. She has a B.A. in Sociology with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She has homeschooled her own children from Pre-School through (their current) High School. All of her classes are interactive. Annette encourages students to fully participate in class. All of her classes feature hands-on activities and books Annette writes for the class herself.
Annette is a published writer, publisher, and artist. She uses her extensive knowledge and experience to create unique classes for every student. She enjoys teaching science, history, art, and cooking classes. She brings history alive with her "Life in ..." history classes where students learn about key times in history by experiencing children and families' lives in that time period. "Paint like ..." art classes where students will learn about famous artists and create their own artwork based on the artists' works. "Smart Science" classes where we explore science and complete experiments and projects. Kid Cuisine classes are cooking classes for Young Chefs based on historic foods and science topics. Students should be prepared to make, explore, and create during class. Annette knows hands-on, interactive experiences are the best way for children to learn.
Annette spent the first nine years of her professional life working in the medical field. She worked as a Transplant Coordinator, retrieving organs for transplantation, and she worked in research. When she was five years old she got her first microscope (which she still has). She also became obsessed with the brain at the age of five. She made her own model of the brain, which she also still has to this day.
Annette also has experience working with Special Needs children. She is Mom to a child on the autism spectrum and a child with serious medical needs. She also has worked with children with ADHD. If your child has special needs, please contact Annette so she can work with you and your child.
