We will sing and learn actions and movements to children's songs. Some songs will be familiar and some will be new and catchy. We will listen, sing and move to the songs. Repetition is a great way to learn. When we meet the class will follow a similar pattern. Welcome song, songs and activities and a good bye song. Based on the understanding that children learn best through play, the focus is on being involved and having fun. The kids don't even realize how much they are learning! Early music concepts involving tempo and rhythm will be taught as well as other important pre-school concepts such as turn taking, sharing, colours, simple counting, following instructions and using their words. Children will see their own potential and growth in self-esteem, as well as in their appreciation of each other.
Bring an instrument if available. Not necessary but will be fun as we will be Angels in a Band and will be singing a song about ringing bells. Suggestions - Bells, shakers, tamborine. Homemade or real.
