- In this class, we will build up our division fact knowledge and play the game in a safe and positive environment. I have built an island within Fortnite Creative that allows us to battle and practice math at the same time! Taking this class will also give your learner a fantastic incentive to practice their math facts outside of class so that they can use their skills here. 
Teacher Tip: Kids learn these facts best in groups. This means they should be focusing on one group of facts at a time (Example: focusing only on the 7s fact for a week, 14÷7, 21÷7, 28÷7, 35÷7, etc.)

- What makes this class so effective? Firstly, it's just way more fun than drilling math facts with flashcards. But if we look closer, we can also see that this strategy utilizes a concept called "Method of Loci" or a "Memory Palace". To sum it up, this game incorporates a memory technique where math facts are tied in with mental images of specific locations within our Fortnite map. If you're interested in learning more about this strategy, give "Method of Loci" a quick google.

*ONGOING SCHEDULE: This class meets once every week at the same time. Every week we will play the same custom map and there will not be changes to the game as the consistency is what helps kids memorize these math facts most efficiently! Feel to drop in for just one week or stick around for a while and make some new friends! 

- Students will need a device for playing the game (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC). Students will add me as a friend and that will allow me to create a private group for security and safety*. We will have a ton of fun working on our math skills and playing together!
