Welcome to the Pokémon Showdown Battle Club! If you’re a Pokémon fan looking to test your skills, learn new strategies, and compete in a friendly environment, this is the class for you! In this exciting course, we will dive into the world of Pokémon Showdown, an online platform where players can create teams, battle each other, and master competitive Pokémon strategies.

In this weekly ongoing social club, we’ll set our focus on the following:

Building Strong Teams: We’ll start by learning the basics of team building, including selecting types, moves, and abilities that work well together. You’ll gain insight into creating balanced teams that can handle a variety of battle scenarios.

Understanding Battle Mechanics: We’ll break down the strategies behind turn-based battles, including type matchups, status effects, and key stats like Speed, Attack, and Defense. You'll learn how to use your Pokémon’s strengths to outsmart opponents.

Competitive Strategy: We'll go over advanced tactics such as setup moves, weather control, priority moves, and status conditions. By a few classes in, you should be ready to think several moves ahead in each battle!

Fun and Friendly Battles: Each session will feature time for you to put your skills to the test in real battles against classmates. Don’t worry if you’re new to competitive play—we’ll have practice rounds and plenty of opportunities for learning from each other.

The hope is that by joining this class, you'll gain a deeper understanding of Pokémon strategy, stronger battle techniques, and plenty of confidence to take on other trainers—whether it's for fun or in a competitive tournament!
