In this highly interactive class, we'll play multiple drama games that emphasize beginner acting skills but also incorporate one of Teacher John's favorite things... Pokémon! These “Pokémon” themed activities will help supply students with foundational theatre skills. Lessons will encourage students to develop their imaginations, physicality/movement, and the importance of cooperation. This is a learner directed class and student enrollment will help determine specific class activities. ...
- Engage in imaginative play. - Improvise a character and setting from a story. - Demonstrate the give and take essential to effective collaboration. - Demonstrate active listening. - Use variations of voice, movement, and gesture for different characters.
- Physical activity will not be overly strenuous. Students are encouraged but not required to wear comfortable clothing that supports flexible movement.
