課堂經歷
In this class, learners will learn creative writing techniques and apply them as they write short stories and essays about their Pokemon cards and Pokemon in general. Each week, I will teach new creative writing techniques, give a writing prompt, and read a sample of the prompt I have written. Then, learners will have the rest of the class time to write their own story/essay. They can use their Pokemon cards for inspiration, which will help make writing engaging and fun! I will start the class by teaching a lesson about a writing technique. We will then discuss as a class how that would apply to the prompt. Learners will then be able to choose a card or topic of their own and write about it, using the prompt. Once they finish, they will read their story out loud to the class. If we have additional time, learners will be able to write another story, using another topic or card. What they don't finish in class will be homework, which is due before the next class session. Each short story should be around 50-100 words/less than a notebook page long. Please note: if you have enrolled your child in one of my multi-day Pokemon Card classes, some topics may be repeated, however, the lesson will cover different Pokemon, making it a different experience. I am a very relaxed teacher that encourages questions and discussion. I strive to give everyone a chance to speak. I want my classroom to be a safe environment where students can unleash their creativity. Learners will be able to interact by discussing their stories and Pokemon cards with each other. At my discretion, I may mute learners and unmute them when they raise their hands to ensure that everyone is able to focus on writing. While spelling and grammar are not the main focus of this class, students should have a good enough grasp on it so that their writing is understandable.
