In this multi-day course, students will explore the following literary devices and elements: symbol, personification, flashback, metaphor, simile, hyperbole, alliteration, analogy, oxymoron, juxtaposition, idiom, euphemism, repetition, rhyme, pun, onomatopoeia, allusion, and more. Students will then analyze a variety of types of poetry and write poems integrating their understanding of the learned literary devices.
