Art Teacher- Ms. Gerri
Experimenting with pastels, markers, paints, paper, and photos as a creative outlet is so therapeutic. It brings great joy! I love to share different techniques and ideas with young learners and see how they discover their own talents and what sparks their creativity. I work hard to make my classes a comfortable place to try new things, make mistakes, and be inspired. I have many one-time and ongoing classes, including, painting, animal drawing, art journals, and baking. I also have some fun and colorful 3-day art camps! I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and worked in the art department of 3 different national publications for about 10 years prior to teaching. Then, I spent many years in the classroom teaching ages K-12 in a wide variety of subjects. I have been teaching art, baking and English language skills on Outschool for the past 2 years, as well as teaching online ESL classes for the past 4 years. I am excited to meet new artists!


Music Teacher- Mrs. Carol
B.A. in music specifically Vocal. Carol is certified in ORFF, a rhythmic based method of teaching music. She has been teaching music for 25+ years.  During that time, she created and taught an early years music program in Montessori schools. Carol has taught voice, piano, early childhood music in her own studio, as well as teaching for several summers at a symphony music camp teaching the ORFF method. Carol will be using the curriculum Smarty Pants Music that she created after teaching children for many years. It is very hands-on. "My hope is that your child will learn to love to sing, play instruments and engage in music."


PE Teacher- Miss Shannon
Let's get moving! I am very passionate about helping children to develop a love for getting active, being healthy, and learning! I believe children learn best through play. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida in elementary education. I also attended the National Academy of Sports Medicine and hold a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) license with a specialization in youth exercise (YES certified) and nutrition (FNS certified). I am a Florida State Champion bodybuilder and I have been training and teaching children both in a group setting and individually for nearly 4 years now in my private gym. I have over a year of experience teaching health and fitness online to groups of children, many times 15+ learners in a class. I am also a private reading tutor in my local community. Whether it's exercising or learning to read, teaching children is the joy of my life! Fitness and learning should be fun. I help children develop their own intrinsic motivation to get active through engaging, high-intensity workouts that will teach them balance, agility, and strength exercises. I also love teaching about our bodies and how to fuel them with food! I encourage and motivate children through tons of praise and confidence building. I have a very energetic teaching style, and I can't wait to learn and get active with you! 
For the art studio, artists will need some basic supplies to start with like pencils, eraser, markers, crayons, brushes, watercolor paints and mixed media paper (art paper that can handle paint and water!). An 8x10 sketchbook (or close to that size) is also helpful. There will be some other specific supplies needed depending on the project that week and a packet will be posted the week before through a classroom post.

For the music class, learners will need a piece of paper and something to draw or color with, and a scarf (alternately, a pillowcase, lightweight towel, small blanket, or plastic bag). Learners will also need to be in an area where they have enough freedom of movement to swing their arms around and move without being too restricted. They should wear comfortable clothes, and have water available.

For the gym, athletes will need two water bottles. These will be used as our 1lb weights. If you have small hand weights/dumbbells 1-3lbs you can certainly use those, but weights are not required. Alternatively, two empty toilet paper rolls can also be used in place of weights or water bottles. A mat or pad is optional as some exercises will be performed on our knees or on the ground. Please have a small space clear of objects, and water to stay hydrated!
