課堂經歷

Welcome to Ms. Feifei's Beginning Level Mandarin Chinese Class. It is Game-based!!!!😍😍😍

This ongoing class combines my most popular beginning-level Mandarin classes for young beginners + Mandarin reading club+ Sing-along cycle time.

I made my own modules and activities based on the Youth Chinese test level 1 ( http://www.chinesetest.cn/gosign.do?id=1&lid=0# ), 
I will use songs, animations, games, etc., material to engage our young learners. This lesson will be 80% Mandarin immersion and goes up to 90% Mandarin immersion after the first 2 months.

During each lesson, we will do the following:
5 mins: Greetings and review(games,games, games)
20mins: Main module
5 mins: wrap up  (games, games, games)

I will send out practice materials after each lesson for learners to practice. These materials will include:
1. Module Demo Video for learners to listen and practice.
2. Song or Cartoon playlist for learners to listen to and watch.
3. Worksheets- coloring pages, writing papers, matching cards, online games, etc.


Our weekly topics are:

                          
Level 1-Week 1: Hello. How are you? 你好,你好吗?
                           Characters: 大,人
                           Book: Hello, hello! 你好,你好!
                           Song: Hello song. 你好歌
              
                                                
              Week 2: Counting 1-10. 从1数到10.
                            Characters: 一,二,三
                            Book: Can you count? Yes, I can! 你会数数吗?我会!
                            Song: Number song 1-10. 数字歌1-10.
             
                            
                Week 3: What is your name? (I will give kids Chinese name if needed) 你叫什么名字?
                                                                (我会为没有中文名字的小朋友取一个中文名字.)
                              Characters: 口,中
                              Book: What is your name? 你叫什么名字?

                Week 4: How old are you? 你几岁?
                              Monthly Review(Game Day) 复习(游戏时间!)

                              Characters: 女, 马,妈
                              Book: I have 5 family members. 我家有五口人。

                 Week 6: Count to 20 and the Magical measure words. 从1数到20 和 神奇的量词
                               Characters: 只,个,几
                               Book: How many? 有几个?
                               Song: Number song 1-20.

                              
                  Week 7: Old Macdonald had a farm in China. ( What! haha! ) 王老伯有个小农场。
                                Characters: 小,牛,羊
                                Book: Farm animals.

                                 Monthly review(Game Day!)

                                Book: Fruits and the fruit trees. 水果和水果树。

                                  Book: The ants. 蚂蚁

*Lesson plans might be changed based on kids' interests and abilities. 

*This lesson needs at least 3 kids to start. Sections might be postponed if we don't reach the minimum number of enrollments, or we can make it a semi-private or private lesson.

Kids will learn basic conversations in Mandarin Chinese such as: "Hello, My name is... I am ... years old. My family has ... people. They are.... I like to eat... I don't like to eat.... I love..." etc. 
Learners will learn how to write and read 2-4 Chinese characters each week.
Learners will learn at least 1 Chinese song each week.
Learners will learn how to read Pinyin(the Chinese phonetic alphabet) and be prepared for

Hi, This is Miss Xiang. My students like to call me Miss Feifei or 菲菲老师 Feifei Laoshi.

I was born in China, and Chinese Mandarin is my mother language. I lived in Beijing for my college and worked for more than 10 years before moving to the USA. Now I am an Oregon State-certified preschool teacher. I also run my own K-5 grade Mandarin afterschool program.

I hold a Bachelor of Music Production and enjoy bringing music into my classroom. During my outschool "Sing along Mandarin cycle time," I will strum my Ukulele, play my keyboard, press my desk bells set, and sing Chinese songs with my students. I will guide my students to find the rhythm and tone of Mandarin through the music's rhythm.

I am also fostering rats for our local small animal rescues. So in my "come talk and play with rat" lesson, I will introduce fancy rats(pet rats) to our students, we will learn Mandarin through this incredible creature, and I will show live rats (sometimes even newborn rats) to my students.

I have 3 boys. They are 3,6,8 years old now. I know how important to provide engaging learning environments for young learners. My tutoring style is high-energy, fun, casual, patient, and peer-like.

Besides my work, I like hiking with my family and friends. I like to go camping and sleep in my 1950s airstream.

I'd like to share many songs, stories, and ideas with my students, So please follow me on outschool. And I hope to see the kids in my lessons soon!
