Do you love to draw faces, but struggle to capture a likeness of your subjects? Then, look no further than this camp course for the aspiring portrait artist! In this class, we will be taking a deep dive into all the helpful tips, tricks, and need-to-knows for drawing realistic faces. We will learn about the anatomy of the head and face, shading of facial features and hair, manipulating features of angled faces, and we'll practice drawing faces with quick sketches and a two-day final project. The course breaks down in the following schedule:

Day 1: Anatomy of the head and face (we'll be using a synthetic human skull for reference)
Day 2: Facial features master class 
Day 3: Drawing hair
Day 4: Tricks and tips on drawing realistic, proportionate human portraits + create your own character!
Day 5: Drawing faces at different angles & expressions
Day 6: Quick portraits from references
Day 7: Drawing a face from reference photo using the grid method
Day 8: Drawing a face from reference photo continued

This is a fairly intensive course, and the whole hour will be filled up. Finishing up incomplete work outside of class time is optional. Questions, discussion, and sharing is always encouraged, but never required. I like to allow some light conversation so long as the lesson stays on track. This class is designed for both beginner and intermediate artists.
