Students will learn how to find and name all of the notes on the piano. They will be able to play basic scales and chords and at least 1 piece of music. We will meet online using a piano (digital or acoustic) to learn to play. Class 1: Learning the names of the notes, navigating the piano using the black keys as a pattern. Students will be able to label all of the white notes from A to G. We will also do some finger exercises so that students will know remember finger numbers. Class 2: ...

Learning to play the piano is a basic skill for all musicians. Whether you want to study voice or another instrument, piano provides a good foundation for understanding melody, harmony, theory, and rhythm. I have a Bachelor's Degree in music, a Master's Degree in education, many years of experience teaching private and group lessons.
I will provide music and technical exercises to the student. They do not have to purchase materials, however, if a student has materials they would like to learn, I encourage them to share these with me.
