每週 1 小時. Students will have no more than 5-10 minutes of practice, 4-5 days a week for this class. Part of this homework will be following along in the practice videos, and part of it will be practicing the scales, chords, and arpeggios on their own.評估
In order for me to assess progress, students must make and upload videos of them demonstrating the chords, scales, and arpeggios we're learning. I will reply to learners' videos with comments, congratulations, and corrections as appropriate so that students will know what to work on next. If a learner is stuck, I especially want to see what they have so far, so that we can work through any technical or musical questions that come up.我們無法翻譯此文,請刷新頁面並再試一次。
課堂經歷
This class is for any piano, keyboard, or music student who wants a systematic, complete, and hands-on approach to learning more about music theory through keyboard technique. Whether your learner is new to piano or has studied for awhile, this approach will help them understand music and play better. This approach roughly follows the method of instruction in the Music Moves for Piano series, but is applicable to all music students, and no book is required. This is a beginner's introduction to practicing and understanding scales and arpeggios in C and G major, and D minor. These keys serve as the basis for understanding other piano tonalities and exercises. In addition to learning to play the scales for one octave and the arpeggios at two octaves, each key will contain a creative element where we will improvise our own short song to reinforce understanding and engagement with the tonality and key being studied. We will strengthen our ear and understanding of music by employing DO/LA-based solfège. This means that for some videos, I will demonstrate by singing, and students will be most successful if they practice singing and solfège as well (but they won't be asked to sing for the group!). Through solfège, students will connect what they hear to what they play on the keyboard and what they understand in written music. Learners may expect multiple instructional videos slowly demonstrating the keys, scales, arpeggios, and theoretical concepts we are learning. This course complements regular private or group musical studies, which often prioritize repertoire learning. In general, students should be able to play with all five fingers on the keyboard, and pay attention to how they play (i.e., make adjustments to hand, finger, wrist, or arm position in response to my instruction). If you have any questions about what your learner is prepared for, please contact me-I'm happy to help!
學習目標
*A healthy, facile, and relaxed piano/keyboard technique is the ultimate goal and reason for any technical studies at the instrument*: we will learn about different technical challenges and improve our overall approach to the keyboard through slow, careful, and supported practice.
-understanding of three different, common keys and the major and minor tonalities
-experience working on slow, careful technical work at the keyboard so that a student may not only reproduce what is being taught, but understand the 'whys' for that instruction: basic mechanical understanding of the human body as it plays the keyboard, fingering patterns that may be applied to repertoire, and a basic theoretical understanding of music.
-fun and creative musical expression

Additional instructional material (background theory, written exercises, and deeper learning opportunities) will be provided in Google Slides. The majority of class specific learning will also be available in the class videos. Students do not need to be able to read music for this class, but this class will indirectly help students read music more fluently.
先決條件
This is not suitable to complete beginners, but anyone enrolled in my Beginning Piano Lessons classes (if in Book 1, they need to have completed lesson 20) will have enough knowledge to join this class.
供應清單
You need a keyboard or piano with at least 48 keys (60 or more is preferable). A bench or chair at the correct height for you (or the ability to raise/lower the height of the chair so that when you are practicing you are seated at the correct height) A device you can make practice videos on for participation and feedback in class (a cell phone camera showing your body, arms, hands and keyboard is a great way to get technical tips, tricks, and corrections from me as we work our way through these keys).
