In this ongoing class, students will learn about various kindergarten level phonics skills such as vowel sounds, word families, blends, and digraphs. Students will also practice writing their letters while working on a phonics skill. We will learn skills each week through hands on activities, songs and poems, as well as practicing writing our letters. This class will also provide exposure to routine and structure. Each class will focus on one concept and does not build on the previous week, making it possible to join at anytime and learn along! This class is best for students who have a general understanding of consonant letters sounds. During this class, students will also have an opportunity to share any books they read that week to help encourage a love of reading all week long! Hello to Everyone! My name is Miss Meghan and I can’t wait to meet your child. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes for preschool and early elementary ages.
I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. At the beginning of my career, I worked extensively with children with autism in home settings designing programs to help students access the world around them in an empowering way. After my oldest daughter was born, I became a licensed childcare provider creating a home away from home for many children to grow and learn. When my youngest daughter was born, I decided it was time to explore other options and that is how I landed at Outschool. I am so grateful for this opportunity and love meeting new learners from all over the world.
I have a passion for instilling a love of learning in young children through exposure, messy play, and fun! I strongly believe that letting children delve into learning at their own level and allowing for different types of learning styles sets children up for a life long learning journey.
In addition to teaching on Outschool, I also homeschool my two daughters who are my pride and joy. I feel so grateful to have a career that I love that also affords me the opportunity to spend time with my own children as well. In my free time, I enjoy art, brainstorming new lesson ideas, cross stitch, and reading!
