🐱🌎 In this ongoing book club, learners will dive into the groovy world of Pete the Cat as we read a new story each week. We will practice skills such as: sequencing, characters, and setting. Plus a craft for each story! - - Course Overview - - 📆 This class meets once per week. ⏰ Each class is 30 minutes long. 📚 I will read a new Pete the Cat story in each class. (Books are listed below, all written by James & Kimberly Dean) 🙋🏻♀️ We will engage in questions throughout the story. We will also make predictions and comparisons. 📖 We will learn all about story elements, such as: characters, setting, problem, solution, etc. 🎨 Following our story, we will engage in a fun craft, or activity, that ties into our story! - - Weekly Schedule - - • Week 1: Week of 4/1 Book: Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party Craft: Build Your Own Pizza! • Week 2: Week of 4/8 Book: Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes Craft: Decorating Paper Shoes! • Week 3: Week of 4/15 - - No Class. You will not be charged! - - • Week 4: Week of 4/22 Book: Pete the Cat and The Missing Cupcakes Craft: Decorate a Cupcake! • Week 5: Week of 4/29 Book: Pete the Cat & His 4 Groovy Buttons Craft: Pete the Cat Directed Drawing! ^ More stories will be added as we get closer!

To be successful in each week's class, learners will need the following: - any printable templates - paper and pencil - coloring tools Although it's not required, it may be helpful for learners to bring the book to class if they have it! This is to help follow along and follow closely. Don't worry if you don't have a copy of the book- I always provide the story through my interactive slideshow presentations that I share on the screen.

Hello everyone, my name is Miss Alyssa. Welcome to my classroom!
I am a positive and enthusiastic teacher who loves to integrate fun into my classroom. I have my Bachelor's degree in Education. I have been teaching for 5 years. I have taught Preschool and Pre-K. Currently, I teach 5th grade.
I truly believe that children learn best not only when they're engaged, but also when they're having fun! That’s why I strive to make learning fun for all children.
What does my classroom look like? My classes will offer slideshow presentations, movement/brain breaks, music and stories, arts and crafts, experiments, and open discussions. Each class will be engaging, interactive, and student-centered. I offer the 3-step approach to learning: I do, we do, you do. With this approach, I first model the lesson and show the expectations. Then, we try it out together as a group. Lastly, students are encouraged to try on their own. I will support students in whichever way they need that fits their individual learning style.
I love to take the interests of my students and integrate them into my lessons. I believe that children are more eager to participate when they are truly enjoying the lesson!
I am so excited to meet your learners in class & I hope to spark their love for learning the same way that my teachers did when I was young!❤️
