The students will be able to explain the purpose of opinion and persuasive writing, identify what it means to persuade, write a five to eight sentence paragraph including an opening sentence, concluding sentence, and three supporting details, and practice reading aloud by sharing their writing.
I will supply the graphic organizer prior to class. Students should be prepared with a pencil and an eraser. If they are unable to print the graphic organizer they can come prepared with lined paper.
