A math teacher once told me, "Math is an ever-changing monster; once you think you mastered it, it transforms into something else." This quote has never been so accurate than with new curriculums that teach multiple methods to solve similar problems. Once you master a strategy, you must learn a new one, and it becomes a vicious cycle. Students will improve multi-step multiplication by using the partial products method.
I am offering this class because this is my favorite method for multi-step multiplication from Go Math! Curriculum. It is an excellent method for learners who have difficulty with multiplication, multi-step problems, and more! I have taught this method to a New York City general education 4th-grade class, a small group of learners, and one on one tutoring. I look forward to teaching new students, sharing this strategy, and more!
