Intermediate 等級
This class is for young artists who want to practice realistic acrylic painting techniques! New subjects every week. We'll practice blending, shading, texture, layering, color mixing and more, using birds, animals, plants, landscapes, and other natural subjects as our inspiration! Upcoming paintings include: WEDNESDAY CLASS: May 1: Duck! May 8: Creek with flowers! (and maybe a waterfall??) May 15: Parrot! May 22: Underwater scene! May 29: NO CLASS THURSDAY CLASS: May 2: ...
Students will practice acrylic painting techniques such as: painting a background, shading & blending, creating texture, layering, mixing colors, and creating contrast.
I have taught painting and drawing for many years, and in my observation the most effective way to teach good technique is to demonstrate it! Painting together with my students lets me illustrate technique and help them build the critical thinking and observational skills they need to continue working on their own. My goal is to encourage my students' confidence in their own creativity, by building the technical skills they need to make anything they want!
You will need these supplies for each class. They are available in hobby stores (such as Michaels), or from online catalogues (such as Blick.com or SchoolSpecialty.com). *** I will post our reference image the weekend before class, and highly encourage students to sketch their outline before class begins! If you don't see the classroom post, feel free to message me. -- Canvas, thick paper, or canvas paper; size 9x12" or similar -- Acrylic paints (basic color palette: red/yellow/blue, black/white/brown, violet/green/orange, additional colors are great!) -- Paint palette or paper plate -- Paint brushes (1/2"/large flat brush, a medium and a small brush of any shape are recommended; additional brushes are great!) -- Water cup, paper towels ****Please have all materials set out & ready to go BEFORE class begins!
Students may require help assembling or setting up supplies for class.
