畫友

Each week, students will be given a surprise picture to paint during class.  For more authenticity, pictures can be printed on water color paper, however this is not required.  You are welcome to print on regular copy paper as well.  Students will be encouraged to paint the picture and discuss it with their friends.  If your child would prefer to use crayons, colored pencils, oil pastels, etc, from time to time, that is acceptable too.  While paint makes it a little more fun, I also realize it makes it a little more messy to clean up and parents sometimes just don't have the time for that.  No worries!  The goal is to create something beautiful our kiddos can be proud of and to converse with our friends.  While having fun with their friends, our kids will be developing their fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, communication skills, and social skills.

We will begin class with a welcome and introductions.  Students are encouraged to say their names and something they enjoy doing.  Then students will be encouraged to start their paintings.  Throughout the class, I will encourage each student to share the progress of their art: what colors they are choosing, what they are proud of, etc.  The last few minutes will be given to students who choose to share their final product.
