課堂經歷
Artists will meet 4 days in two weeks to compose a fun and colorful piece of art. We will use acrylic paints, brushes, and canvas (or acrylic paper) to create each piece. Students can pick to set up a Still Life Model at home or use the teacher's Still Life Model. The teacher's Still Life Model will consist of shapes, fabric, and flowers. The purpose of this class is to learn how to break down what is in front of us in order to paint it. We will learn about mid-tones, shadows, and highlights. We will learn about different perspectives in art- foreground, middle ground, background. Each class, the teacher will begin with a short 10-15 minute lesson about our focus of the day. (Sketching, color mixing, painting) Throughout class, the teacher will include short 5 minute intervals of more information about our focus on the day, tips, and tricks. Students will sketch the Still Life Model. We will plan out the colors we would like to use for the painting. Then, we will start the painting process. The teacher will be drawing and painting as well to demonstrate to the students. The teacher will be there to guide and help problem solve for each student. Students are encouraged to ask questions to further their understanding of acrylic paints. Students may move on pace that is good for them. Students can focus on one painting for the four days or they can choice to paint a second painting with a different perspective of the Still Life Model. The teacher will repeat directions as she knows painters can create at different speeds. We will learn different art facts throughout each lesson- this will include information about our materials, famous artists, and different art terms. Day 1-Discuss foreground, middle ground, background. Sketch our Still Life Model Day 2- Discuss mid-tones, shadows, and highlights. Plan and mix our colors. Start the painting process. Day 3- Talk about the minor details that bring our painting to life. Continue the painting process. Start a second painting if time allows. Day 4- Finish the painting process. Start a second painting if time allows. Parents- Please be available to help your artist if needed. Please make sure artists are wearing clothing that can possibly get some paint on it. It is helpful to have a plastic bag big enough to fit the palette to save our paint colors for each day. I send out a message reiterating the supplies a few days before class. She joined the professional art community five years ago. Since, she has had her work shown a various galleries and art magazines. She teaches at an art institute as well.
