During this class, students will learn fun facts about the country of Haiti and how to paint a Haitian Art piece. Students will learn the common elements present in Haitian Art and create a painting of their own using a provided template. I will guide the students through the process of transferring their images to canvas for painting (through pre-class video) and model how to apply the paint to complete the painting. I have been a professional self-taught Haitian artist working in acrylic for the last 19 years. I was an educator in a brick motor school for 8 years teaching grades 3-8 in all subjects. I have homeschooled, my 4 children, for the last 10 years while teaching online classes for the last three years.
Paint brushes Your choice of: Canvas, canvas pad, or canvas board (8x10) Acrylic paints Pencil Tracing paper Tape Painting template (will be uploaded) Paper towel Cup for water Paper plate or palette Table covering for table area
Hello Parents, please use the printable template provided and video instructions to help your child trace the image onto the canvas. Image must be traced on before class begins. Parents must remain off camera so that students can work independently. Thank you!
