Please have the following: - A canvas or other durable painting surface (the teacher will be using an 8x10" canvas board) - Paint - acrylic or tempera (the teacher will be using Apple Barrel acrylics): - colors - I recommend having a full set of 12 or more paint colors available. The colors I will be using are [white, red, blue, brown, and light brown] (light brown can be made with dark brown mixed with yellow). - Paintbrushes - I recommend a small (up to 1/4") for detail painting and a medium (1/2"-3/4") for filling in large sections. - Palette (the teacher will be using a paper plate) - Container (or 2) of water for rinsing paintbrushes between colors. - Paper towel or rag for cleaning paintbrushes - Surface to work on that can get dirty or is protected by a covering
