In this class, we seemlessly integrate art with science, history, and literature to provide a rich and engaging experience for young artists. Each lesson is carefully crafted to not only teach artistic techniques but also to broaden students' knowledge and understanding of the world around them. Through pre-recorded videos, students will embark on a journey of discovery, breaking down each lesson step-by-step. They will delve into the science behind rocks and gems, the history of lunar exploration, and the phases of the moon, among other fascinating topics. Using a variety of art materials, learners will have a collection of 6 beautiful masterpieces at the end of the course.

Rocks and Gems
-Discover the formation of rocks through an introduction to the rock cycle
-Create a colorful art project using oil pastels and watercolor paints to depict rocks and gems 課 2:

Phases of the Moon
-Explore the different phases of the moon and why they occur
-Create an Earth masterpiece with representations of each moon phase using watercolor paper, watercolors, black Sharpie marker, school glue, scissors, and glow-in-the-dark glue 課 4:
Lunar Landing
-Learn about Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, through the book "One Giant Leap"
-Create an art project inspired by Neil Armstrong using markers or colored pencils, soft chalk pastels, watercolors, and white oil pastel 其他詳情

General supplies include: watercolor paper (at least 90 lb) mixed media or sulfite drawing paper (12x18 inches preferred) white and black assorted brushes (as least one round, one flat) oil pastel chalk pastel watercolor paint tempera paint (at least primary colors: red, yellow, blue, plus white and black) scissors school glue Glow in the Dark glue colored markers black Sharpee marker

Hello! I can't wait to learn and share with you! I have a bachelors degree in history, a doctorate in law, and certifications in photography and therepeudic art . I love learning, and teaching others.
I am a mom to 5 amazing kids, ages 17, 15, 14, 11, and 9. I've taught art classes for over 25 years and have worked with all ages. I am excited to reach out to even more students on this Outschool. I believe with Pablo Picasso that, "Every child is an artist." And my goal as an art teacher is to make sure we all have the desire and confidence to keep being creative and enjoy a life full of learning. Because just as Picasso said, "The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
I homeschool my 3 youngest children for several years, and now all 5 are home with me. I love teaching them art and history. I love using my passion for history to teach how the events of our past have shaped our future.
When I am not teaching, our family travels. I love to travel to see the original art I study and teach about, and the geography that has inspired artists and influenced our history.
