- Learners will gain strategies, learn rules about patterns and grammar....in which to develop and/or strengthen skills in reading and spelling, as well as reading comprehension, and reading and writing fluency skills. It will also provide learners with practice for oral reading and oral language development.
I have been an educator for nearly 30 years. I have degrees in early childhood education and sociology. However, I have experience with students of all age groups and ability levels. I taught in public and private school classrooms for 18 years. I currently work one on one with students locally teaching language and reading classes, as well as basic math skills, and homeschool classes. I have also worked with students on summer break at a speech and language therapy practice. As a former elementary school teacher and current Orton-Gillingham instructor, I have several years experience working with students utilizing various methods and curricula to develop students’ foundational literacy skills. This class is intended for students with unique learning needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, English Language Learners, and Kindergarten Readiness.
