One of the most historic buildings in Florence the Orsanmichele has connections to many of our most famous artists of the renaissance. I teach college art history. This is pulled straight from a lecture I give where we tour Florence following the steps of a murder as he tries to get away after committing his crime. Some sculptures are religious in nature. I will do my best to keep religious opinions as brief as possible focusing on how it relates to the guild and its artistic contribution to the building.
