Students will learn to use an acronym to solve problems using the correct order of operations that include subtraction, addition, division, multiplication and the use of parenthesis and exponents.
Order of operations is a lesson have taught both in a public school with a class of 20-30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. I understand how students respond to it and it allows me to adjust my teaching style to individual needs. I will teach it in a way that students will believe it is an easy lesson to work with.
