What a wonderful time of the year to learn Spanish doing your favorite activities! In this course you will sing, do story time, do crafts and cook simple recipes in Spanish. Let's sing beautiful Spanish Carols or Villancicos such as, Campana Sobre Campana, Noche de Paz, Burrito Sabanero and Feliz Navidad. You will also participate on small craft projects such as, Advent calendar, Santa's stocking and cookie decorating. Let's read and listen to magical Christmas stories during this class! The structure of the class is as follows: 5 Minutes: Warm up 25 Minutes: Activity 5 Minutes: Wrap up Day 1: Cookies decorating - Christmas volabulary 🍪🎅🎄 Day 2: Craft - Advent calendar with treats. 🎄📅🔔Reviewing/learning numbers- General vocabulary. Day 3: Craft - Advent calendar with treats. 🎄📅🔔Reviewing/learning numbers- General vocabulary. Day 4: Hot cocoa with s'mores - Learn food vocabulary.🎅☕🎁- Storytime Day 4: Craft -Make Christmas cards with trees - Introduction to song "Campana Sobre Campana" Day 5: Introduction to song "Feliz Navidad" - Craft-Christmas ornament with picture - Learn basic vocabulary. 🎁 Day 6: Practice song "Feliz Navidad" - Craft - Christmas cracker. Day 7: Artwork - Learn song "Mi burrito sabanero" Day 8: Practice the song "Mi burrito sabanero"- / Pretzel Reindeer Day 9: Watercolor Christmas artwork Day 10: Craft! Day 11: New Year's resolutions - toast with juice Day 12: Craft - New year's popper - 🎇🎆🧨🎁✉️💌 - Good luck grapes. Day 13: TBD Day 14: TBD Day 15: TBD Students don't require any previous experience on the subject to be able to participate or learn in this class. In general you learn a foreign language by being exposed to it. I can tell you that by personal experience. Like everything else, you need to practice to understand and finally learn.

Students will be exposed to rich vocabulary in Spanish that will allow them to make connections that will last a lifetime. Students will learn the numbers 1-31, at least 5 colors, some school supplies and more. Participants will be engaged in activities with directions in Spanish. Students will be repeating words and sentences while doing things that they love.

While most of the content in this class is very simple for kids to do on their own, children will need assistance from time to time when handling scissors, glue or food that needs to be microwaved.
For practicing songs at home, I will share a Youtube link that you can use at home everyday with supurvision. However, you can also use other methods such as downloading the song or use a device for listening to the song.
You Tube: I will use a sharable screen for songs.
Google Docs: I will attach some documents for you to download and print, such as song lyrics, printables and images that are necessary for crafts.
Kahoot: It is not required that you create an account. You will use a code to participate in the activity. I will share the link previous to the class.
Hoopla: I will use a sharable screen for Story Time.

I am very able to teach my students the most effective way to learn, which is by using the language. I have experience working with kids and teenagers with different backgrounds and cultures. I have travelled to different spanish speaking countries and I grew up in one of them. I have established conversations with people from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico. I understand very well different dialects and expressions, which makes me knowledgeable of the use of the language. I also have have persued formal studies where I have obtained my five year Bachelor's degree in education. I have taught in Venezuela and the US for over 12 years. My experience range from Elementary to High School. I have taught Spanish, EFL and ESL.
