In this class, students will learn how to take sheets of paper, and turn them into many different things! The paper can turn into animals, moving parts, or something practical that you can use like a cup or wallet! This course will focus on all aspects of the Japanese art of folding paper: origami. They will learn the different types of paper, different categories of origami, different folds, and the difference between practical and decorative origami. The structure of the class will begin...
The main learning goals for this class will be for students to learn the Japanese art of origami through an artistic lens by creating different types of origami.
I learned origami at the young age of 7 years old, and have been actively practicing origami ever since then. I also have experience with teaching children origami for over 6 years.

Learners will be assessed during class in an ongoing form of formative assessment. I will make sure each learner is following along with the pattern before moving ahead as a group.提供的成績
- A stack (at least 5 sheets per week) of paper that is cut to a perfect square (origami paper recommended) Amazon: $4.99 https://www.amazon.com/Origami-Sheets-Colorful-Projects-Included/dp/B087C49W8M/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=origami+paper&qid=1619027009&sr=8-8 - A stack (at least 5 sheets per week) of 8.5"x11" paper (typical paper for a printer, but notebook paper works just fine). - Markers (optional to decorate their origami) -Scissors (optional as there may be times they are needed, but usually not likely) **Note: If there are any additions or changes to this supply list depending on the week, I will post in the classroom on the discussion board prior to class** (There will rarely be changes to the list).
