Class Experience Every week for 25 minutes, students will learn 1 or 2 video editing tricks, effects, or filters that will help you make better videos on iMovie. Additionally students will learn and implement a handful of the basic keyboard shortcuts for efficient video editing. Students will also get the opportunity to request specific skills to learn in the class and will also be able to share previous video editing work that has been pre-approved by the teacher. These ongoing classes DO NOT build on each other, so feel free to enroll and attend when available. If your learner has ZERO editing experience, please make sure to watch the overview video in the classroom that goes over the iMovie layout and some important words we use to describe windows and tools. Here is an overview of what to expect in the upcoming sessions in this ongoing class. The class meets once every week. *** SUNDAY, 9:30 PM EST *** Sep 3 - speed up video and preserve the pitch Sep 10 - create b-roll and why it's important Sep 17 - keyframe practice with fast moving object Sep 24 - use markers and wave forms to get the perfect timing Oct 1 - green screen project Oct 8 - color tone and brightness adjustment Oct 15 - understand frames per second ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iMovie (desktop or laptop) is free to download and free to use on Apple/Mac Computers. If you don't have an Apple/Mac Computer and still want to learn video editing, reach out to me as I have other options. Teaching Material and Style During each class, I will be asking the students questions to find out their goals and interests. This is a very short class and we focus on 1 to 2 skills each class. I do encourage the students to let me know what they would like to learn and if possible, I cover it in the same class. I aim to have a balance between learning and having fun. Since my experience video editing is mostly in iMovie and Movavi I am able to give instruction and guidance on these software programs. If you are looking to learn with a different program, you can find other teachers with those offerings.

In order to participate in this class, all learners will need to have access to an Apple laptop or desktop computer with the free iMovie program installed. We will use this program in the class. I will be sharing my screen during the lessons to show examples and explain the editing skills and features.
