In this “no experience needed” class I will walk students step by step through creating their own masterpiece. This class is perfect for any new (or experienced!) artist wanting very clear and easy to follow instructions. During this class, you will learn how to create this sea turtle acrylic painting on canvas. We will discuss and learn about our brushes and materials, as well as the painting and drawing techniques used to create this artwork. At the end of the session, you will have your own completed masterpiece! Acrylic paints, brushes, and a canvas will be needed for this class. Please see the supply list for all the details. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This class needs to meet a minimum of 2 enrolled students to run the class. If for some reason we have not met the minimum number of students I will contact the enrolled student 48 hours before the class time to cancel/reschedule. My mission for all of my classes is that every learner has the opportunity to be creative. I believe creativity is so important, and I want to give students the chance to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment. The goal is for each student in this particular class to complete an entire acrylic painting, and learn about techniques and the brushes we use during class.

Acrylic paints can be hard to get off of furniture and out of clothing. Please make sure students have a space to work that is ok to get a bit messy. I recommend wearing old clothes that you won't mind if they get a little paint on them. Acrylic does come off of hair and skin with just a little soap and water.

Learners will need a couple of supplies for painting. If you already have some supplies feel free to use what you have! You WILL need paints, brushes, and a canvas to complete this artwork! Canvas, Canvas Board, or Canvas Paper. I will be working on a 12x16in canvas, but anything in a similar size will work great Green Acrylic Paint Black Acrylic Paint White Acrylic Paint Blue Acrylic Paint (I used two different shades of blue to make my painting more interesting! It's fun, but not required) Yellow Acrylic Paint Large Brush to fill in the background Small Round Brush Paper Plate (or something to use as a paint pallet) Pencil Cup of Water Paper Towels If you would like or need to purchase new supplies most supplies can be purchased at your local grocery or art store.
