Join me while we use acrylic paint to create this adorable Halloween Jack-O-Lantern painting! In this “no experience needed” art class I will walk students step by step through creating their own fall pumpkin. My mission for all of my classes is that every learner has the opportunity to be creative. I believe creativity is so important, and I want to give students the chance to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment. The goal is for each student in this particular class to complete an entire acrylic painting, and learn about techniques and the brushes we use during class.
I have a BA in Art - Concentration in Drawing and Painting. I have been teaching art at the professional level for the last 8 years. I love to work on painting in my free time, and I illustrate children's books!
Learners will need a couple of supplies for painting. If you already have some supplies feel free to use what you have! You WILL need paints, brushes, and a canvas to complete this artwork! Canvas, Canvas Board, or Canvas Paper. I will be using a 12x16in canvas, but anything around that size will work perfectly Brown Acrylic Paint Red Acrylic Paint White Acrylic Paint Black Acrylic Paint Orange Acrylic Paint Large Brush Small Brush Pencil Paper Plate (or something to use as a paint pallet) Please have a couple of extra paper plates available for a game! Cup of Water Paper Towels If you would like or need to purchase new supplies, most supplies can be purchased at your local grocery or art store. Acrylic paints can be hard to get off of furniture and out of clothing. Please make sure students have a space to work that is ok to get a bit messy. I recommend wearing old clothes that you won't mind if they get a little paint on them. Acrylic does come off of hair and skin with just a little soap and water.
