I firmly believe every student can succeed. I also know that many students may feel anxious or nervous about school and fear not being as good as their peers. I love helping students gain new skills and new confidence and love for learning. I meet each child where they are at and give them tools and strategies to help them succeed. I use an 'I do,  we do, you do' model often, and I am very flexible in my approaches because I know each child learns differently. I also like to engage students in talking and thinking about their thinking processes (called metacognition) to  help them understand how they learn. In math I can tutor you in concepts involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, inequalities, word problems, and more. In reading I can tutor concepts such as phonics/decoding, vocabulary, writing, reading comprehension, and more. Once I know what your specific concerns are, I can best decide how to help your student gain and maintain the skills they need to improve in math or reading.
