In this private class, learners will receive individualized instruction for phonics, reading, math or writing. I am a Florida certified teacher with multiple certifications in reading, writing, English Language Learners, and gifted students. I also have my Master's Degree in Brain-Based-Literacy. I am currently taking classes to become certified as an Orton Gillingham Dyslexia teacher. 

 ****Please send me a request for available days and times. I will then coordinate with you based on availability.***

***I recommend 2 or 3 meetings per week in order to see growth in your learner. To enroll your child, this will take time and planning on your part based on how Outschool has set up the scheduling process. When you enroll your child, you will need to look over the schedule to choose your days and times. I recommend looking for availability on the same days and times. You will have a better chance at a consistent schedule by enrolling this way. (For example Monday and Wednesday at 9:15.) You will need to enroll in the first class meeting, then enroll in the second class meeting., and if you choose 3, then a third meeting- all within the same week. You will also need to select an end date or choose "when I choose to cancel" in order to reserve your days and times for the coming weeks. Please be aware the cost is PER 30 minute class. ( remember you will have to go through the enrollment process twice for 2 days or 3 days.) I know that scheduling can be time consuming when done this way.

The first meeting will be an informal assessment of your child's reading or math ability. The assessment varies based on your child's age and a questionnaire I will send for you to complete about their ability. The assessment for reading may include phonemic awareness skills (oral language and playing with sounds), letter sound and naming, phonics and decoding words, reading, and sight words. Writing skills will be incorporated in the assessment. The assessment for math will vary based on the skills you feel they need to work on. 

Skill work may include:
*decoding
*multi-syllabic words
*fluency using digital text and passages 
*writing
*counting, number sense
*addition and subtraction
*multiplication and division
*fractions
*Curriculum will be tailored to the individual learner needs.
*Assessments and modifications to instruction will be made as needed for the learner. 
***It is my professional opinion that learners should have at least two to three sessions a week in order to create and maintain progress. You may opt for more sessions if you wish.***

***Parent Information***
Parent Contact: I will maintain contact as to the learner's progress, as well as any additional skills they should assist with at home. 
Materials: Information will be posted on Sunday evenings in the learner's messages and classroom.

***In order for me to assist your child, I do require cameras to be turned on during class. 

***Per Outschool policy, if a student is more than 10 minutes late, it will be considered a missed class,  and the class is not eligible for a refund.***

Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule a class, please use the rescheduling tool, which shows my availability for the week.  Make-up classes are generally held on Friday. I cannot guarantee I will have availability at your normal time. It is the responsibility of the parent to cancel or reschedule class through the rescheduling tool. 

Pausing a class will also result in your "time slot" becoming available to other learners. You will no longer hold that day and time, and would need to create a new schedule to re-enroll your child. (In this situation, it is preferable to message me with any schedule pauses/changes you may need. I am flexible within reason, and do my best to adhere to schedule changes due to vacations, emergencies, school functions, etc.)

Please be aware if you cancel class, it will allow your "time slot" will become available to other learners. Rescheduling is preferred over cancelling class, to ensure you maintain your "time slot."  

***If I, as a teacher, have a scheduling conflict, I will either contact you to reschedule for a different time or issue a refund.***
