課堂經歷
In this course, we will focus on the basics of biology and chemistry of a coral reef environment, as well as how different marine species are affected by living in this diverse habitat. Students will gain an understanding of the coral reef ecosystem and the biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) factors that allow biological events to occur. What exactly is a coral reef? What species live in a coral reef environment? How is each species crucial to the health of the reef? We will also discuss trophic levels and different species in each level. Student will learn about trophic level relationships in organisms and how species can affect one another in this habitat. This class is for beginner to intermediate level students of marine science. There is no prior knowledge necessary to take this class, just an interest in the ocean! There is no outside work required for this class. Learners should come to class ready to learn all about the simple biology, chemistry, and conservation of coral reef environments. This is an interactive class. Students are encouraged to join in discussions, however, it is not mandatory. Students are more than welcome to sit back and listen if they prefer. I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
