Students will be taught about the Wellington Rescue,where 37 men were charged with helping a fugitive slave escape. Topics covered will be 19th century constitutional laws, Ohio constitutional laws, legal terms and definitions with relation to the Oberlin Wellington court case, United States government officials and their role in the slave law making process, the history of opponents of federal slave laws.

Case against Simeon Bushnell
*Students will learn the legal definition of jury its proper use and how it relates to the Oberlin Wellington case.
* Students will learn how the jury was formed illegally in the Oberlin Wellington case.
*Students will learn the definition of parties in a court case
* Students will learn the relationship of parties in the Oberlin Wellington case.
*Homework assignment multiple choice and comprehensive questions
